Social Science Educator
Having the ability to serve and support my community is an honor, and this has always been my dream. To help make this dream a reality I earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. From there, I utilized my passion and experience to begin assisting marginalized populations. I have over six years of experience working with mental health clients, providing case management services and counseling. Along my career journey, I discovered that my educational responsibilities brought me the greatest joy. After spending some time working in a hybrid role as a 5 Keys Charter School Independent Study Instructor (GED/HS diploma) and Re-entry Specialist at the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department, I was moved to become a full-time educator.
I grew up as a “military brat” living in various locations across the United States and even in Saudi Arabia. I’ve traveled to six out of the seven continents with Antarctica being my absolute favorite. These experiences fueled my passion for learning as much as I can about different cultures and history. One of my goals as teacher is to share this perspective with my students. My years of experience as a social worker and instructor, dealing with real world social, political, and economic issues, allows me to bring an honest perspective to a social science classroom.
